Accessibility

Thank you for visiting The Reading House. It’s a pleasure to have you around. We’ve designed and developed our site with the needs of people with sight loss and disability in mind, because we’re all about accessible reading.

We’ve also taken on board international guidance and best practice on web accessibility. This means our images and banners are optimised with alt descriptions, clean graphics, with clear, large sized headings and fonts. Links are clearly presented in bold, and underlined. Any buttons have clear hover animations, so you can navigate your cursor around our site with ease. Any colour combinations are put through a colour contrast tester to ensure a user friendly experience for visually impaired visitors.

We’re using an accessbility module on the site which allows you to toggle the font size, and background colour contrast.

We’re committed to testing our site for screen readers, text-to-speech, and other user scenarios. We’re constantly looking for new ways to upgrade and improve our accessibility. We’ll update our accessibility guidelines regularly.
